Our family vacation home was being used less and less so we decided to list it on Airbnb and VRBO for others to enjoy. We wanted to update this cabin to give it more of a vacation feel. Our inspiration was an Aspen Ski Lodge.
We swap out the traditional cabin furniture for modern armchairs, soft throws, and lux pillows. We also added in leather, metal, and marble to add depth and texture to the space. Layering area rugs over hardwood floors to create a soft underfoot. With the help of Stephanie Sims we accomplished the below:

Fresh Paint:
We applied fresh paint to every surface, from the ceiling to the window trim, walls, and kitchen cabinets. The most impactful change came with painting the cabinets, instantly modernizing the kitchen and creating a sense of expansiveness. This update, alongside a cohesive color scheme extending throughout the cabin, seamlessly tied the entire space together, resulting in a harmonious and inviting environment that we're thrilled to show off.

Sophisticated Lighting:
Adding lighting to an older structure can be tricky, but important to create an ambiance. We Illuminate the cabin with track lighting. This soft, ambient light helps evokes the cozy glow of a ski lodge at dusk. We also incorporate a mix of overhead fixtures and lamps to create layers of light throughout the space. We even added a statement chandelier above the dining table or in the entryway to add a touch of elegance.
Details:
We did not want to forget about the details! By blending rustic charm with luxurious touches, you can create a conversational space.
Transforming our log cabin into an Aspen ski lodge retreat was and is a labor of love that we hope people will come and visit/ enjoy.
